Medical personnel often forget their responsibility towards their patients and conduct their professional work without observing the code of ethics and thereby violate the rights of the patients. Inherent in the concept of any profession is a code of conduct, containing the basic ethics that underline the moral values that govern professional practice and is aimed at upholding its dignity.

  2. Very well said pradeep. But here is the problem, when the code of conduct is breached and the basic ethics are not considered or followed, those professionals are not made to be accountable and those that are victims are expected to accept it because of the shocking state of the health system.

    If you are familiar with the public health system in Australia and medical negligence law, then you understand the point I was trying to make.

    These so called medical professionals who fail in their duty of care, are protected by inadequate laws, and rightly so, as the Govt would have realised that they'd be sued left, right and centre for shoddy medical services provided in this country.
